Fresha card terminals overview 

Fresha card terminals are a quick and easy payment method which allows you to accept in-store payments from clients who can choose to pay in a range of ways. Once you’ve activated your card terminal, you may need to switch it on/off during the times your business opens and closes. 

Each Fresha card terminal model has a slightly different method for switching it on/off. You’ll need to follow the steps for your terminal: 

• S1
• V400m

Getting started 

You will need to activate your Fresha card terminal before you can use the general functions, including switching the device on/off. 

How to switch a Fresha S1 card terminal on/off 

Turn the terminal ON 

1. Press and hold the power button until the display turns ON. If necessary, connect the terminal to a power supply to charge the battery.

Turn the terminal OFF 

1. Press and hold the power button until a dialogue box appears.  

2. Confirm you want to turn OFF the terminal.

How to switch a V400m card terminal on/off

Turn the terminal ON 

1. Plug in the charger to turn the card terminal on. If this doesn’t work, hold the green circle button on your card terminal for 5 seconds, and allow a few minutes for the Fresha logo to appear on the screen. 

2. During startup, the display turns on and off a few times. Let the battery charge for at least four hours while you continue with the next steps.

3. Press 1 followed by the green circle button on your card terminal.

Turn the terminal OFF 

1. Press 9 followed by the green circle button on your card terminal.

2. Enter the Admin menu using the PIN code 5358 followed by the green circle button.

3. Select Power off. Alternatively, press and hold the ❌ button until the display turns off.

Fresha's FAQs

Can I turn just the terminal screen off instead of switching the whole terminal off?  

While the Fresha terminal is switched on, the screen will not turn off. However, it will automatically dim slightly if not in use. To turn off the screen, you will need to switch off the card terminal. 

Is there a setting to adjust the card terminal volume instead of switching it off?

To adjust the terminal volume, you can contact our team who will be able to action this for you.

What payment types will my card terminal accept?

Fresha card terminals accept contactless, signature, and chip and PIN payments from all major debit and credit cards including Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Clients can also use digital payment options as our terminals accept payments through Apple Pay and Google Pay.
