Hard reset a card terminal

Fix persistent issues and restore your card terminal's performance. Learn how to perform a hard reset on a V400m or S1 Fresha terminal.

Getting started 

If your card terminal isn't working after a reboot, try a hard reset. This temporarily deactivates the terminal, but all your details remain on the device after restarting.

To perform a Fresha card terminal hard reset, ensure you have the charger and a power source.

Resetting a Fresha S1 card terminal 

To reset a Fresha S1 terminal:

  1. Remove the power cable from the terminal. 
  2. Push down on the battery lid and slide off to remove.
  3. From the left-hand side of the terminal, unclip the battery to remove it.
  4. Leave the battery to rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Reinsert and clip the battery back into the terminal.
  6. Put the battery lid back onto the terminal.
  7. Press and hold the power button until the display turns ON.
  8. Leave the terminal to restart (this may take up to 5 minutes).

Resetting a V400m card terminal

To rest a V400m terminal:

  1. Remove the power cable from the terminal.
  2. Unlock and remove the battery lid. 
  3. Remove the battery from the terminal.
  4. Leave the battery to rest for 5 minutes.
  5. Reinsert the battery back into the terminal.
  6. Put the battery lid back onto the terminal and apply the safety lock. 
  7. Plug the power cable back in.
  8. Leave the terminal to restart (this may take up to 5 minutes).
