Set team commissions

Incentivize your team by setting up tailored commissions for them to earn on sales of services, products, gift cards and memberships. Learn how to manage default commission settings and customize these per team member.

Getting started

To enable team members to earn commissions on the services and products they sell, you'll need to:

Setting up commissions

Commissions can be set up for Services, Products, Memberships and Gift cards. The same configuration steps can be used for all commission types.

To set the commissions:

  1. Open Team and select Team members.
  2. Click on a team member to open their profile.
  3. Select Actions and click Edit.
  4. Click Commissions and use the toggle next to each commission type to enable the setting.
  5. Under Default commission type, select either:

     

    Fixed rate - A fixed amount of commission that can be earned on all items. For this option, enter a Default rate. This can be a percentage of the price or currency value.

    Tiered - A tiered commission structure that adjusts rates according to the accumulated sales. For this option, select a Sales period and enter tier ranges with the percentage that can be earned. 

  6. To customize commissions by each item, click Edit

  7. Next to each item, set the Commission rate as either Fixed or Tiered and click Apply. Fixed rates can be adjusted for each item.
  8. Click Apply.

NOTE: If you have set up a default rate, the new services, products, memberships and gift cards you add to your catalogue will have commissions automatically enabled. 

TOP TIP: You can also configure commission settings when creating a new service directly from your Services menu.

Customizing deductions 

When updating your team member's commission settings, you can choose what will be deducted from the item’s sale price before calculating the commission. 

Set up default commission calculation settings 

  1. Open Workspace settings, select Team then Commissions.
  2. Use the toggles to apply the relevant settings:

     

    Deduct discounts - Deduct discounts from the sale price before calculating the commission.

    Deduct taxes - Deduct taxes from the sale price before calculating the commission.

    Deduct service cost - Deduct the cost associated with delivering the service from the sale price before calculating the commission.

    Earn commission on services paid for with a membership - Commission is earned on services paid for with a membership.

    Earn commissions on fully paid invoices - Commission is only applied on invoices once they are marked as fully paid.
     
  3. Click Save
  4. Open Team members and click on the team member to open their profile. 
  5. Select Actions and click Edit.
  6. Click on Commissions and locate the relevant commission type.
  7. Under Calculations, tick Default settings to calculate the team member's commission based on your workspace commission settings.
  8. Click Save.

Select customized commission calculations 

  1. Open Team and select Team members.
  2. Click on the team member to open their profile. 
  3. Select Actions and click Edit.
  4. Click on Commissions and locate the relevant commission type.
  5. Under Calculations, tick Custom settings and tick the settings you want to apply:

     

    Deduct discounts - Deduct discounts from the sale price before calculating the commission.

    Deduct taxes - Deduct taxes from the sale price before calculating the commission.

    Deduct service cost - Deduct service cost from the sale price before calculating the commission.

    Earn commission on services paid for with a membership - Commission is earned on services paid for with a membership.

    Earn commissions on fully paid invoices - Commission is only applied on invoices once they are marked as fully paid.
     
  6. Click Save.

FAQs

Q. How are commissions calculated for appointments involving multiple team member?
Commissions earned for appointments with multiple team members are divided based on the value of the services each team member provides.

For example, in a $100 appointment where Team Member A performed a $60 service, and Team Member B performed a $40 service, Team Member A will receive 60% of the commission, and Team Member B will receive 40% of the commission.
