How do I import my product list?

Fresha allows you to bulk import your products so you can quickly set up your inventory for seamless ordering, tracking, and selling. 

You may choose to add in products one by one, or add multiple products in one go. There are two options: download and fill the template with your product data, or upload a CSV file with your product data.

Follow these steps to import products using Fresha’s template

  1. Go to Products > Product list.
    a) If you haven’t added any products yet,  click Import products.
    b) If products have been added, go to Options > Import Products.
  2. Download our product template.
  3. Open the template in a spreadsheet application of your choice. Input your product data into the template. The mandatory fields Product Name, Category and Brand are required for import. Retail_Price is also required if Retail_Sales is set to True. The rest of the fields can be left blank.

  4. Once your product information is complete within the template, save the copy as a CSV file.
    a) In
    Google Sheets, click Download, and select Comma Separated Values (CSV).
    b) In Excel, click File > Save As > Choose where to save the file to > change the Save as type field to CSV > Save.
    c) In Numbers, click File > Export to and select CSV. 
  5. Back in Fresha, click inside the blue box labelled Upload CSV file, select your filled-in template file and Upload.
  6. Preview your product list. Once you are happy to proceed, click Start Import.
  7. While your products are uploading, you can close the screen and the products will appear in your list when the import is complete.

Follow these steps to import products by uploading your own CSV file

  1. Go to Products > Product list.
    a) If you haven’t added any products yet,  click Import products.
    b) If products have been added, go to Options > Import products. 
  2. Click inside the blue box labelled Upload CSV file, select and upload your CSV file with your product data.
  3. Fresha will try to automatically match the column headers in the Fresha Product List to the column headers in your file. For example, if your file has a column called Name, it will be automatically matched with Product Name in the Fresha Product List. You can always use the drop-down boxes to make any edits if needed.

  4. The mandatory fields Product Name, Category and Brand are required for import. Retail_Price is also required if Retail_Sales is set to True. The rest of the fields can be left blank. 
  5. Check if all rows contain the right data. Once you are happy to proceed, click Start Import.
  6. While your products are uploading, you can close the screen and the products will appear in your list when the import is complete.

NOTE: A product import will not replace any existing products. 

PRO TIP: To open the template in a Google Sheet, open Sheets > New Sheet > File > Import > Upload > Select template from your downloads > Import Data.

NOTE: If the upload fails, please check your completed file matches the Fresha template and try again.

NOTE: If you leave the retail sales field (retail_sales) blank, the default answer will be ‘Yes’ and the product will be available for sales at checkout.

NOTE: If you leave the pricing field (full_price) blank, the default answer will be ‘Error’. To sell a product, the full price must be filled in. If you don't want to sell the product, put No or False in (retail_sales).

NOTE: If you leave the quantity field (location_quantity) blank, the default answer will be ‘0’. If you wish to set unlimited stock instead, put Yes or True in (unlimited_stock).
