Need Feature Back To Turn On & Off Certain Client Notifications

Currently after the Jan 2020 update salons can't turn off and on certain notifications for clients now. Prior to update we could. All are enable or disabled. This can cause problems.

For example, I book a client for a color and then notice a few days later I forgot to add the style. The client will get a notification when I change it. The client might panic or get confused.

Another example, a client is sitting in the chair and wants an add on service. Client will get a text/email while sitting in the chair for the add on service when they already know its added. Client will get annoyed.

I'll share one more example. I have a client at the salon booking out for the whole year all her appointments. She then realizes she has to change 3 appointments. She will get a ton of notifications while standing there about changes and confirmations. So bc it can't be turned off her phone and email will blow up with notifications. See how this can be annoying? Especially if they have text and email enabled on their profile.

Also currently there is no way to adjust text on what the cancellation policy is unless you enable the online booking app. Which some salons don't want online booking for various reasons.

My clients only want confirmation and appointment reminders. So I am in a pickle on how I am going to explain this. They already yelled at me to take off some notifications last year. I'm going to hear it again.(

Please reconsider enabling the ability to turn off and on some notifications. Thank you.

    We have officially updated the client notifications so you can enable and disable each notification. 

    Just go to "Client Messages">"Settings"> and select your notification type where you'll see the toggle option to disable, then save changes.

  • totally agree. i don't like this feature to be automatic. I want the original one where you can enable or disable the notification. I also don't like the idea include the service charge on thank you email. My clients come and change the service all the time, when i check out, the amount would not reflect the amount i charge them. i dont need to to let them know what technician they will get either because we need to change around to fit the schedule. This needs to be fixed.

  • I couldn’t believe that this was just changed. And now we can’t change the default. I don’t need to take up space to give the client a booking reference number. And they don’t book online so the rebook option won’t work. And that they are all enabled with no ability to pick and choose. This is not an upgrade at all in my opinion but a downgrade. And agree with the above. This needs to be fixed.

  • Agree, I  need the option to disable certain notifications such as the checkout feature.  This doesn't work for our company with these new changes.  Also some of my clients are now not even getting the 24 hour reminder text which is causing confusion on whether or not they have an appointment.

  • I agree. The calls started coming in yesterday and haven't stopped. They are mad because they are confused. I can't change the text message back to what it was. This is horrible.

  • TOTALLY AGREE with everyone here. The new upgrade is a HORRIFIC DOWNGRADE. I started getting emails and texts from multiple clients right away. The messages are irritating and it doesn’t give us control over which notifications to send I only need the booking confirmation and reminder texts. The idea of sending the client a message saying “YOU SPENT $250! Click here to spend another $250!” is ridiculous to me. Their receipt has already been sent to them at the time of their appt. There is no need to send another message afterwards reminding them of how much money they spent. Stupid idea with no option to disable or enable? Please fix this right away.

  • Agree!  This is going to create havoc with some of my clients.  Please change it back to allow options on which messages we send and what they say!  Very unhappy with this!

  • Another in agreement!  I also prefer to customise the message.  I added a line asking them to reply "YES" to my mobile to confirm.  I didn't hear back I could follow up.  I don't have the option to have that added now which is disappointing. I also like to have the treatment type listed, that way when they arrive and say they thought they were only have one of the three things they booked in for I can say to them "It was in your reminer text".  Hopefully this goes back to how it was before!

  • There was nothing wrong with the system the way it was so i dont see why it had to change and i agree with the above comments that it has been downgraded.I have clients not getting text message notifications at all despite having notifications turned on in their profile, then other clients getting constantly bombarded with emails. Not only is it annoying for them but in some cases it can also look unprofessional. Also one thing i loved about the feature before was that i could add the location into the reminder messages and now i cant edit that. I work out of 2 clinics and feel that it is going to cause some confusion in that regard. Please go back to the old system it worked!

  • notifications are enabled but my clients aren't even getting their reminders and I'm kind of glad they aren't at this point. The only thing I use Fresha for is the reminder text so without that, what's the point. Not being able to edit the text message is a massive downgrade.

  • This change in your app has really caused for many problems in my scheduling and my notifications of my clients. I would like my custom messages back and also the ability to choose which messaging I want to go out to my clients. Also clients that I had chosen for no notifications are getting notifications now and they are so marked for no notifications.

  • My clients aren't getting ANY of their notifications, even though everything shows its enabled and that the clients are getting messages. So now I'm on my second no show of the day and now I'm livid...

  • The whole template needs to be editable, simple as that. Yeah they've made it all fancy, but caused an headache for us at least.

    All notifications to clients have since been disabled.

  • I agree too!!I don't like this system upgrade. I have used some booking system before at another salon but I haven't seen this silly setting.  They said " managing client notifications" but we can't managing!! It's only able to "enable or disable"for all of notifications. This is not "managing"!!  I am currently looking for another booking system.

  • Noticed this morning that mine allows you to disable text notifications individually now. Click on the notification and there is a button in the top left corner for each one. It's only for manual appointments so if they book online it is automatic.

  • Why do the SMS messages come from random numbers? If it was a single number the clients could see the chain of SMS messages.

    Why is the automation “thank you for visiting notification” still being sent to our online booking clients?This "thank you message" also includes the clients Tax invoice.The Tax invoice  has my own personal Provider Number displayed as I am the proprietor of the salon.

    The problem we have is that when clients are making bookings that are intended for another Therapist working at the salon especially for Remedial massage therapy the Tax invoice they are receiving does not show the other therapists provider number, which is used for insurance rebates.

    I really just simply want to disable the "thank you for visiting " notification. I have in the "settings"  disabled this Feature but it is still sending the message to the clients who book online.

    Please help.

  • they just updated that we can disable certain notifications that we dont want or turn off the service price. But again, that's really annoying. i have many customers contacting us since they can view the invoice, and that's not necessary. we already provide them the receipt with info on it. Fresha invoice is not updated with correct amount sometimes. this causes too much confusion for customers. the text notification is not customized too. Please fix and bring back the old one.

  • This change for not necessary. I already had clients that complained about too many notifications, we took care of that but now we are back to square one and I have to explain again. Please change it back to the way it was before!

  • I was very upset to see the changes made in notifications, personal message completely gone, cost of appointment and time in new notification, with no way to remove time? giving to much unnecessary info to clients...Not able to disable certain notifications. (I have tried - when I check it is enable again) 
    I have been using this program for a year now to see if I liked it like my other program - I just cancelled my paid program December, switched over completely - now with these new changes, I am very upset - and so are my clients. Please change back or give more options to adjust notifications
